An online photo booth is free when you use it solo: shooting, picking your cuts and downloading, no account needed. Here is how to use it as a self photo booth at home with a phone or laptop camera.
What exactly is free
All of it. Enter the booth, take six shots, choose your four favorites, put a frame on them and download — no credits, no sign-up. Credits are used for two things only: keeping a strip in your album to reopen later, and running AI touch-up. Skip both and the photo is already on your device.

You do not get a printed strip in your hand — that is the real difference. In return, retakes are free, so instead of committing on the first try you shoot until you like it.
Step by step
- Tap “Try solo”. Allow the camera and you are in the booth. There is no login screen.
- Pick a layout and a backdrop. Vertical strip (1×4) or square grid (2×2), a frame color, a studio backdrop.
- Press ready and the countdown starts. A few seconds per cut, six cuts in a row — about a minute.
- Choose four and download. Drop the one where you blinked; retake if you want.
What makes a solo strip look good
- Face the window. Front light makes background removal cleanest; backlight is the worst case.
- Camera at eye level. A laptop on a stack of books changes your face proportions more than you would think.
- Chest-up distance. If only your face fills the frame, your shoulders get cut at the edge.
- Pose in front of your body. Hearts and peace signs in front of your face keep fingers clean.
Bringing a friend into the frame
You can also shoot alone with a friend standing next to you. Upload one photo of them and they appear in four poses in the frame; you stand beside them. This one uses credits and the photo is sent to an external AI, so the screen tells you before you start. Details on the home page.
Common questions
- Really no login?
- Really. Open the link and allow the camera. You only log in if you want to keep a strip in your album.
- Are my photos uploaded?
- No. Shooting and compositing happen in your browser, and downloads go straight to your device. Only album saves go to the server.
- Can I print it?
- Yes — it is an image file. The vertical strip has the same proportions as a physical booth strip.
